【摘要】:Theforcerequiredtoseparateametalliccoatingfromitsplasticsubstrateisdeterminedbytheinteractionofseveralfactors:thegenerictypeandqualityoftheplasticmoldingcompound,themoldingprocess,theprocessusedtopreparethesubstrateforelectroplating,andthethicknessandmechanicalpropertiesofthemetalliccoating.Byholdingallothersconstant,theeffectonthepeelstrengthbyachangeinanyoneoftheabovelistedfactorsmaybenoted.Routineuseofthetestinaproductionoperationcandetectchangesinanyoftheabovelistedfactors.Thepeeltestvaluesdonotdirectlycorrelatetotheadhesionofmetalliccoatingsontheactualproduct.Whenthepeeltestisusedtomonitorthecoatingprocess,alargenumberofplaquesshouldbemoldedatonetimefromasamebatchofmoldingcompoundusedintheproductionmoldingstominimizetheeffectsonthemeasurementsofvariationsintheplasticandthemoldingprocess.1.1Thistestmethodgivestwoproceduresformeasuringtheforcerequiredtopeelametalliccoatingfromaplasticsubstrate.Oneprocedure(ProcedureA)utilizesauniversaltestingmachineandyieldsreproduciblemeasurementsthatcanbeusedinresearchanddevelopment,inqualitycontrolandproductacceptance,inthedescriptionofmaterialandprocesscharacteristics,andincommunications.Theotherprocedure(ProcedureB)utilizesanindicatingforceinstrumentthatislessaccurateandthatissensitivetooperatortechnique.Itissuitableforprocesscontroluse.1.2Thetestsareperformedonstandardmoldedplaques.Thismethoddoesnotcoverthetestingofproductionelectroplatedparts.1.3Thetestsdonotnecessarilymeasuretheadhesionofametalliccoatingtoaplasticsubstratebecauseinproperlypreparedtestspecimens,separationusuallyoccursintheplasticjustbeneaththecoating-substrateinterfaceratherthanattheinterface.Itdoes,however,reflectthedegreethattheprocessiscontrolled.1.4Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyproblems,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
